Box Office Assistant Manager

Summary
The Box Office Assistant Manager supports Brevard Music Center’s ticketing and patron service operations by managing the day-to-day functions of the box office, supervising summer staff, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences. This role includes responsibilities for staff management, ticketing systems, and patron engagement while collaborating closely with other departments to achieve organizational goals.
Duties
Staff Management & Operations
- Recruit, train, and manage a seasonal box office team, including developing a training program and creating staff schedules.
- Oversee daily ticket sales operations for both single tickets and subscriptions, ensuring smooth transactions and excellent customer service.
- Reconcile daily sales for all box office staff and monitor box office emails, responding promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe box office environment.
- Manage box office supply inventory and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
Tessitura & Data Management
- Update and maintain accurate customer information and payment records.
- Assist with Tessitura season setup, with the goal of managing the process independently by the second year.
- Manage and maintain a large patron database, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
Access Control & Ticketing Programs
- Oversee the TrueTickets program, including branding updates and digital ticket distribution.
- Serve as the primary contact for access control systems and train users on scanning devices.
- Monitor and track patron usage of complimentary tickets and donor benefits.
Patron Engagement & Customer Service
- Educate patrons about seasonal programming, including guest artists and featured events.
- Manage internal and contractual complimentary ticket requests.
- Act as the main contact for group sales, providing personalized service and ensuring positive experiences.
- Resolve customer service issues promptly and professionally, escalating to the Box Office Manager when necessary.
Reporting & Administration
- Generate weekly sales reports and manage seating maps, especially for Parker Concert Hall, ensuring accurate seat availability.
- Support subscription renewal campaigns and ticketing incentive programs, such as end-of-season thank-you initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Marketing Department on campaigns and initiatives.
- Review box office policies and procedures, recommending improvements as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Box Office Manager.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with ticketing systems (Tessitura experience preferred).
- Supervisory experience and a commitment to exceptional customer service are highly valued.

Brevard Music Center is a summer institute and festival.
