Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Term of Service: May 2025 – August 2025 (exact dates TBD)
Position Overview:
Brevard Music Center (BMC), a premier music festival and arts education institution, seeks a creative and motivated Marketing & Communications Coordinator for its 2025 season. Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing & Audience Development, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to BMC’s mission by supporting marketing efforts across social media, email campaigns, media relations, and event promotion. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and eager to gain hands-on experience in arts marketing and administration.
Core Responsibilities:
Social Media & Digital Marketing:
- Manage and create content for Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms.
- Develop a seasonal content calendar and schedule posts aligned with BMC’s marketing strategy.
- Use Canva to create engaging graphics and maintain the Evergreen and Seasonal Marketing Folders.
- Work with the Production team to capture and post “Behind the Scenes” photos and videos.
Email Marketing:
- Learn and manage WordFly to create and schedule weekly enewsletters and eBlasts.
- Coordinate with the Development team to avoid over-communication to patrons.
- Draft email content based on press releases or seasonal campaigns, ensuring proper approvals.
Event & Media Sponsor Coordination:
- Coordinate press interviews and on-site media visits.
- Assist in updating website content, including homepage banners and event listings.
- Proof and review summer festival ads for accuracy and brand alignment.
- Support the distribution of promotional materials in Brevard, Hendersonville, Asheville, and surrounding counties.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Director to manage media sponsors and track promotional benefits.
- Write and proof seasonal radio spots for distribution.
- Coordinate event calendar listings across various platforms, including Explore Brevard, Visit NC, and Mountain Xpress.
Photography & Cataloging:
- Organize and archive photography from events and performances, ensuring all images are properly tagged for future use.
- Work with photographers to meet departmental needs for press, social media, and promotional materials.
Audience Engagement:
- Support the Box Office and other departments with marketing needs, including poster displays and ticketing website content expansion.
- Collaborate with the Artistic and Production teams on CD sales, artist signings, and merchandise sales.
Special Projects:
- Assist in the creation of recruitment and development materials, including student testimonials and campaign assets.
- Support special events such as Open Air Brevard and multimedia concert previews (if applicable).
Qualifications:
- Current college student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Arts Administration, or a related field.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficient in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram) and familiar with design tools such as Canva (Adobe Creative Suite is a plus).
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in performing arts and arts education is preferred.
Requirements:
- Satisfactory background check.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Minimum three years of college experience.
- List of references (no recommendation letters required).

Brevard Music Center is a summer institute and festival.
